Membership is divided into five categories as follows:
- Any full-time academic staff member or postdoctoral fellow of Australian Catholic University whose specialisation lies in the area of Early Christian literature or history.
- Members external to the University who have a distinguished scholarly reputation in the area of early Christian literature or history and who may be called on to promote the aims of the Centre as international consultants.
- Postgraduate research students who have already made significant progress towards their degree.
- Adjunct members external to the University who may be called on to supervise postgraduate students.
- Friends and benefactors.
